THE SEARCH FOR VOLVO VENUS BILO

The first concept car in the world. Created by the son of the famous industrialists LM Ericsson, M.Sc. Gustaf LM Ericsson. The car was called Volvo Venus Bilo and only this specific one was ever built. That was back in 1933.

This creation, one of the very first airstreamed cars, got a great attention all over the world. For instance The New York Times described the car as a very promising project of the future.

How could this car just disappear? It should be in a center position at the Volvo Museum in Gothenburg. Is there anything left but only a few black and white photos? The penultimate owner of the car got his last payment from the car consisting of a workbench, a hammer and a couple of mailboxes. Nobody has seen the car since 1955.

It is known in what area in Denmark the last owners lived. Are some pieces or the whole car hidden in some barn after all these years? Does anyone have any old pictures in a family album?

Nobody knows but we are some enthusiast that are trying to solve some more clues about the mysterious car. Hopeless may seems– but who knows?

THE LAST SIGHT - VIDEO

This is a very unique video of Volvo Venus Bilo from 1949. The car was released in 1933. This is the first concept car in the world and it was made by Volvo.
Probably the only moving pictures of the car ever!

THE AFTERMATH

Volvo showed the car at different resellers in Sweden and Denmark but the reactions were not all positive. Volvo sold the car to a director Nils Westerberg in Kalmar, Sweden. He registred the car the fourth of October 1934. Volvo corporation owned the car for only about half a year. They sold it to the maket very soon, something they probably deeply regret today. Can something about the car be found today? Pictures in some family album maybe? Some pieces of the car? Or?
